Ages 9-12, 13-15, young and full adults

3-5 days of 3 hours each

Want to sound more convincing on paper? We can give you the tools.

After a review of good writing practices and then every day will review a different writing style. Monday they will review creative writing elements to be aware of, Tuesday we review literary analysis essays, Wednesdays we go over some good presentation skills to prepare for Friday’s presentation for the parents and Thursday we learn ten persuasive writing tricks for ads, persuasive letters. Students will have their writing pieces reviewed and strengths and weaknesses identified. Every day, students choose a style of writing and topic that they would like to explore and use it to improve – it could be what the mini lesson was about or something they find more important for themselves. Other ad hoc mini lessons in small groups and one-on-one will help with specific learning points, while self- and peer review will also help in editing and publishing. Reworking on past or future school assignments is also possible. Parents are invited to hear their last piece of writing during a 20 min. presentation at the end of the camp.
